Goodbye February, Hello March!

A few years back when I was nannying for a family they had this big door painted as chalkboard to use for family notes, scripture, reminders, etc. I remember coming one day and seeing the chalkboard with these words... "Goodbye July, Hello August!" I recall feeling a greater sense of appreciation for the months (both behind and ahead of me) by reading this simple saying. Isn't it true: the days seem so long, but the weeks (months) go so fast? I find myself stopping to reflect at the end of a month or beginning of a new one on all that has happened in the past four weeks. Although February can drag on and we are all itching for a change... in weather, clothing, travel, length of the day, etc., I for one am thankful for all that has happened in the sweet month of February.

In this past month I was able to take time to show and tell my husband how much I care for him. I celebrated Jordan with the 14 days of Valentines as found per other popular blogging sites. He was given a reminder and some sort of small gift for the first fourteen days of the month. I do not show my husband enough how much he means to me. I'm thankful that I took the time to do something 'out of the ordinary' this month to show him.

I began training for my first half marathon (coming up in May). Although I've run a few 10 mile races in the past, I have not yet attempted a half yet and am excited to embark on this journey and get back into shape.

We have had a few weekends with family (both sides) in this past month, too. Many of my extended family members came up in the beginning of the month for a family weekend. We were able to celebrate my grandpa's birthday and enjoy our time together. Jordan's family also joined us up here a few weeks into the month because his brother had bought a new house; we spent a weekend enjoying time at his house and being together.

Besides all those great times we had with our family, we were also able to spend a few quality evenings on dates together and with friends. We have really made the most of our month of February. I'm thankful for the time we've had... and looking forward to the month of March which is looking as promising, if not more!

"Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God."--Psalm 146:5
